Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Behavioral Neuroscience
Kent State University’s Department of Psychological Sciences seeks applicants for an open-rank, tenure-track position in Behavioral Neuroscience beginning in Fall 2019. Applicants should have expertise in systems/circuit-level neuroscience research that involves a behavioral component. The position is open to any area of behavioral neuroscience, with preference for research programs that complement existing strengths in memory, fear, stress, neuropharmacology, addiction, and behavioral neuroendocrinology. Faculty are expected to develop a productive research program, pursue extramural funding, direct theses and dissertations, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.
The candidate will join a strong and growing community of neuroscientists. This search is part of an expansion of the department and Kent State University’s newly launched Brain Health Research Institute (BHRI), whose mission is to improve our understanding of brain function in health, disease, and recovery. Kent State University is making significant investments in facilities, resources, and tenure-track faculty with expertise in Brain Health. The BHRI, which includes faculty and students members from many academic departments, multiple hospital partners, and area research institutes, seeks to foster collaboration, promote interdisciplinary research, and train the next generation of researchers.
