The joint Brady and Omary laboratories are seeking to fill two postdoctoral positions. Position 1 (Brady lab) involves studying the roles and regulation of nuclear envelope proteins in liver disease and using novel animal models of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Position 2 (Omary lab) involves (i) a drug discovery project to identify compounds that could be used to reverse the phenotype related to intermediate filament associated diseases and (ii) studying mechanisms of porphyria associated tissue injury. Requirements include experience in biochemical, molecular and cell biological techniques; mouse or zebrafish experimental systems; and a record of publications commensurate with level of training. Possession of US citizenship or permanent residency is an absolute requirement as it allows the trainee to apply for supplemental funding, and preference is given to trainees with no previous postdoctoral training. If interested, please send your CV, a career plan statement (including which postdoctoral position you would prefer), a potential start date, and names of three references.
