The Bowen Lab is working to reconstitute the postsynaptic density from excitatory neurons in vitro to understand the role of scaffold proteins in the assembly of membrane-associated signaling complexes. We use fluorescence microscopy to study the structure and function of individual protein molecules within this reconstituted system. The Bowen lab has extensive experience in recombinant protein production in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and is equipped with systems for both prism-based and through-objective TIRF microscopy using six-color illumination. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with imaging experience and an interest in protein structure and protein interactions. Interested applicants should apply on line at www.stonybrook.edu/jobs. In key word search insert 1802601.
