The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences (Health Science Campus) is seeking to hire two tenured or tenure-track faculty (Assistant or Associate Professor) positions with a focus in virology and/or bacteriology.  Under the new leadership of Dr. Kevin Pan, Professor and Chairman, the department is looking to expand on existing strengths in bacterial pathogenesis, viral pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, and immune responses to infectious diseases.  Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees and have at least three years of relevant postdoctoral experience.  Current funding that is transferrable to the University of Toledo is required.  Successful candidates will be expected to develop/maintain an externally funded research program and contribute to teaching in our medical and graduate programs.  The department has recently renovated space available, state-of-the-art core facilities, and a BSL3 laboratory.  Additional information about the research interests of the faculty is available at http://www.utoledo.edu/med/depts/micro.  Access to clinical samples is possible through academic affiliation with Promedica Health Systems.  Applications must include: a) cover letter; b) CV; c) a brief summary of research interests, past accomplishments, and future plans; and d) names and addresses of three references.  Application materials should be addressed to Dr. Randall Worth and uploaded to https://jobs.utoledo.edu for full consideration (Post #0600492).  The search committee will continuously review applications until the position is filled.  The University of Toledo is committed to diversity and equal opportunity. Applications from women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged.  EO/AA/Employer M/F/D/V
