Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track, Full-Time Faculty, in Molecular and Cellular Biology: The Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor position beginning August 2019. Cleveland is a center for biomedical research offering quick access to clinicians, researchers, and state-of-the-art infrastructure at world-class institutions. Biomedical researchers in the department maintain active research programs funded by major federal agencies and foundations. This position is intended to complement existing strengths in cellular and molecular biology research and in our doctoral program jointly offered with the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. We seek candidates working on significant biological problems at the cellular and molecular level, with emphasis on biomedical relevance. Salary commensurate with qualifications and competitive startup funds will be provided. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biology or a related field, a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience, a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, and demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching. Preferred qualifications include evidence of readiness to apply for a major federal grant within one year of employment and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
