A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately for motivated individuals to study mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, neuronal maturation and neuronal degeneration in hippocampus and other brain structures. The successful candidates will contribute to one or more of the following projects: 1) understand the relationship between local protein synthesis and proteolysis in dendritic spines; 2) study the molecular mechanisms underlying behavioral impairment in animal models of autism; and 3) study the mechanisms of lysosomal trafficking in neurons. The laboratory is located in a new Research Building in the Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, a short distance from Los Angeles and other Universities in Southern California. We are seeking applicants who have strong knowledge and skills in molecular biology, electrophysiology or cell biology. Candidates must have a PhD or MD/PhD degree in biological sciences and at least one first-author publication in a refereed English-language journal. For application, please send a cover letter with your research interests, a CV, and email addresses and phone numbers of three references to Dr. Michel Baudry at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
