Research Instructor Faculty Positions
The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Graduate School Public Health (GSPH), invites applicants to apply for two (2) open non-tenure Research Instructors full-time faculty positions.
The Department is seeking candidates with a Ph.D in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Cell Biology Physiology or Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Genetics with a track-record of productivity. The first position should have a solid background and hands-on experience using histological, genetic and molecular tools as well as behavioral testing to study the nervous system. The second position should have knowledge and experience in molecular biology and biochemistry with an emphasis on lipid metabolism and the regulations. Previous work with methods relevant to Next Generation Sequencing NGS (work with RNA, analysis of mammalian transcripstomes, RNA-seq, RT-QPCR, sequence library generation); statistics using R; experience with bioinformatics tools and experience with Linux or Unix/MAC OS platforms is a plus. Knowledge of the application of NGS to reveal transcription factor binding genome-wide and histone modifications and expression profiling is required. Both positions require creative thinking, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively. The salary range for these positions should be $40,000 to $60,000.
