Tenure Stream Positions - Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Graduate School Public Health (GSPH), invites applicants to apply for one (1) of three (3) open tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor fulltime faculty positions.
The Department is seeking candidates with a Ph.D, M.D. (or both) and a background in epidemiologic and environmental aspects of lung health and disease. The individual must have experience developing and completing projects within one or more areas environmental impact on lung health. Experience can include: a) basic principles of exposure and host responses; b) instrumentation development and measurements; c) field studies in collaboration with epidemiologists; d) epigenetic: analyses; e) computational approaches and modeling and/or f) mechanistic-oriented metabolomics and lipidomics analysis. Responsibilities may include collaboration with toxicologists to validate biomarkers of exposure, epidemiologists and risk assessment faculty for community based studies identifying sensitive populations and assessing and conveying risk in contemporary fashion. Expertise in geocoding, epigenetics and/or bio-informatics considered helpful. Successful candidates will be expected to develop outstanding independent research programs, contribute to multidisciplinary efforts and participate in graduate education with a special emphasis on basic principles of environmental influence on health. A history of receiving competitive grants is an asset. Attractive start-up packages and competitive salaries ($100,000 to $200,000) have been committed.
