The Doulatov lab at the University of Washington has opportunities for postdoctoral scientists interested in blood development and disease. We have a unique translational focus on human hematopoiesis, using umbilical cord blood and induced pluripotent cells (iPSCs) to understand blood development, stem cell function, and disease. The fellows would lead high-impact independent projects in: developmental hematopoiesis, with the goal of understanding the mechanisms that specify HSCs during embryonic development to advance generation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) from iPSCs; or in blood malignancies, utilizing iPSC models to investigate the genetics and biology of myeloid neoplasms and advance novel therapeutic strategies. Both projects are supported by the NIH and private foundations, and involve a strong network of collaborations across University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
Our lab is affiliated with the Department of Medicine, Genome Sciences, and the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine (ISCRM). Salary is based on the NIH scale and determined by the number of full years of relevant postdoctoral experience. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible through 1/1/19.
