Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences New Jersey Medical School is pleased to announce the opening of a faculty position, either tenure-track or research track, for an individual skilled in bioinformatics to support biomedical research.  A Ph.D. or M.D. is preferred but not required, academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  We seek candidates with a solid computational background in biomedical research, an outstanding record of achievement in and experience with building team science efforts towards collaborative bioinformatics, with an emphasis on high throughput genomic sequencing, single cell sequencing and quantitative sequencing approaches (such as ChiP-Seq, ATAC-Seq etc).  This individual will oversee a core facility service providing assistance and guidance in research computing, bioinformatics, and computational biology during the initial and ongoing stages of research projects.  This will include selection and integration of appropriate bioinformatics analysis platforms across a range of omics methodologies, including next generation sequencing and metabolic and proteomic analyses.  Successful applicants are expected to have experience in relevant large-scale data management and data base design with a strong focus on their applications to biomedical research.
