Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in New York City invites applications from ambitious and productive young scientists with a background in microbiology or microbial genetics to apply for a postdoctoral position. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to study host-microbe interactions using epsilon toxin producing strains of Clostridium perfringens in mouse model systems; investigate the molecular basis of C. perfringens cellular toxicity; define structure function relationships between epsilon toxin and its receptor(s); determine the frequency of epsilon toxin producing strains of C. perfringens in human samples; and determine the characteristics of isolates from clinical samples in anaerobic culture.
