Tenure Track Position:
The successful candidate is expected to develop a competitive research program focused on fundamental understanding of plant disease system(s) relevant both regionally and nationally. Research foci could include, but are not limited to fungal, viral, nematodes or bacterial plant pathogen systems, ecology and evolution of plant pathogens, community ecology of plant pathogens, pathogen-based food safety, epidemiology and modeling of plant pathogens. The university presents outstanding opportunities for internal collaborations. The successful candidate will publish in peer-reviewed publications and is expected to obtain extramural research funds.

As a tenure-track faculty member, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality classroom teaching methods, including mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. This position is also responsible for participating in the department’s tradition of outreach to state, national, and global audiences.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Plant Sciences or related field
  2. Demonstrated excellence in plant pathology research
  3. Potential for excellence in teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  2. Broad knowledge of plant pathology
  3. Demonstrated interest in fundamental research in plant pathology
