Assistant Professor of Biology
The Department of Biology invites applicants for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor. We seek a broadly trained biologist to teach and potentially develop both general (introductory) and specialized (upper-level) Biology courses, particularly in the candidate's specialty. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in biochemistry, public health, or whose scholarship involves the generation and/or bioinformatic analysis of genomic data. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a passion for working with undergraduates while maintaining a nationally recognized research program. Applicants should specifically address how their scholarship could leverage collaborations with faculty at the college, surrounding Longwood Medical Area, and/or greater Boston science community.
A Ph.D. in a relevant field of Biology is required along with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Emmanuel College seeks to create a working and learning environment that reflects the society and community that we strive to serve. We strongly encourage applications from women and underrepresented minority candidates.
A complete application must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, research statement, and contact information for three references. At least one of these references should be able to address the quality of the candidate's teaching. Applicants must apply online using the link provided. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
