Principal Investigator, Mechanisms of Aging and Longevity
Who we are:
Calico is a research and development company whose mission is to harness advanced technologies to increase our understanding of the biology that controls lifespan, and to devise interventions that enable people to lead longer and healthier lives. Executing on this mission will require an unprecedented level of interdisciplinary effort and a long-term focus for which funding is already in place.
We seek a Principal Investigator with an innovative basic-research program that addresses fundamental questions about aging and longevity. We are looking for visionary individuals who think outside of the box, take smart risks and are eager to dissect causal events and homeostatic changes during aging. Areas of particular interest include inflammation, systemic signaling, metabolism, energetics and tissue homeostasis. A keen interest in leveraging discoveries to reduce the rate of aging and age-associated disease is paramount.
Principal Investigators at Calico lead independent research groups in a highly collaborative environment with state-of-the art core technology support.
