The Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a research (75%), teaching (20%), and service (5%) tenure track, academic year position at the level of Assistant Professor. The department seeks to add additional strength to its strategic priority areas in nutrigenomics by hiring a highly motivated individual in the field of molecular genetics. We seek a scholar with a strong record in nutrition-related research and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. He/she should have appropriate teaching experience. Special consideration will be given to candidates capable of integrating nutrition, regulation of energy metabolism, neurobiology, bioinformatics, (epi) genetic, and molecular biology approaches to assess disease risk. Preference will be given to applicants who express an interest in teaching nutrition-related classes.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in nutrition, (epi) genetics, molecular biology, or related field and a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience. Expertise in mammalian model organisms and molecular biology techniques is required.

The Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln provides a vibrant research environment with approximately 1,000 undergraduate and 80 graduate students.
