The College of Science & Mathematics and School of Health Professions at Rowan University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Bioinformatics applied in molecular or cellular biology and/or disease model systems or a closely related field is required. Successful candidates are expected to have a strong record of research geared towards biomedical topics and to build a vigorous, externally funded research program. We seek outstanding candidates who will be able to contribute to the development of interdisciplinary curricula and research initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in bioinformatics as wells as molecular and cellular biology topics and pursue a research program involving graduate/undergraduate students.
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences is the home for interdisciplinary biomedical initiatives. Many faculty members in the Department have joint appointments within the college of Science and Mathematics, and there are opportunities to collaborate with both the allopathic and osteopathic medical schools at Rowan University. The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences currently offers BS degrees in Bioinformatics, Translational Biomedical Sciences and Molecular Biology, in addition to an MS in Bioinformatics.
