Two Faculty Positions in Neuroinformatics and Gene Editing at

The University of Texas at San Antonio Brain Health Consortium (BHC) is seeking applications for up to two tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in the areas of neuroinformatics and gene editing. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degrees and the ability to direct an independently-funded research program exploring any aspect of neurobiology and brain health. Candidates in neuroinformatics with experience in all computational areas are strongly encouraged to apply, especially statisticians and computer scientists focused on genetic disorders in general and technical proficiency and in-depth understanding of GWAS or systems-level understanding of integrated genetic, transcriptomic, and phenotypic datasets. It is highly preferred that the candidate in gene editing have experience in cutting-edge methodologies in CRISPR/Cas9 and transcriptional regulation (inducible dCas9 regulators). The successful candidate will also teach courses in his/her field of expertise within or outside the department.

BHC, founded in 2018, is a bold new interdisciplinary research effort at UTSA designed to revolutionize brain health and treat disease. Jenny Hsieh, Ph.D. & Director, is recruiting outstanding individuals dedicated to solving fundamental problems in brain health. The BHC is housed across UTSA including a new state-of-the-art Science and Engineering building, which is part of the vibrant and collaborative research environment with a major focus on neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease, Epilepsy, Autism, and TBI.
