A postdoctoral research associate position is immediately available in Dr. Alexey Fedulov’s laboratory in the Division of Surgical Research at Rhode Island Hospital to study epigenetic mechanisms of immune regulation, with a specific emphasis on the effects of DNA methylation on gene transcription.

The successful candidate will receive an academic appointment through The Division of Biology and Medicine at Brown University, and can expect a competitive salary and typical benefits package. 

The prospective candidate will lead the project on targeted epigenetic manipulation of gene function by designing and testing gene-specific DNA demethylase proteins. This is a novel cutting-edge methodology with a potential for discovery in innovative therapeutics. Other studies in the laboratory include immune and epigenetic mechanisms of airway disease: inflammation and fibrosis.

Qualifications/Requirements:  The potential candidate will have a PhD degree in molecular biology, epigenetics, immunology or a relevant discipline. A perfect candidate will have prior experience with molecular biology and epigenetics, flow cytometry, tissue culture, transduction and related techniques, as well as in models of lung disease. The position requires the ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills are a must. The candidate should be eligible for employment in the US.
