Assistant Professor: Broad Institute and Massachusetts Institute of Technology
The Broad Institute and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Massachusetts) seek applicants for a tenure-track faculty position, effective July 1, 2019, or as soon thereafter as possible. The individual would serve as a Core Faculty Member at the Broad Institute and an Assistant or Associate Professor in an appropriate department in the Schools of Science or Engineering at MIT.
We seek outstanding young scientists whose independent research will thrive in a collaborative environment. The search is open with regard to the biological question of interest, with regard to approach (i.e. computational or experimental), and with regard to system (i.e. model systems or human). We encourage candidates whose research will bring new areas of interest to the Broad, as well as candidates whose work relates to current Broad research in areas such as genomics, computational biology, data science, medical genetics, cancer, microbiology and infectious disease, chemical biology, cell and systems biology, stem cells, epigenetics, neurobiology and metabolism. The successful candidate will have laboratory space at the Broad Institute.
Successful applicants are expected to share our commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses and supervising graduate and undergraduate research, as well as develop and lead a vibrant, independent, research program. We are also interested in candidates who will help promote and provide diversity. Candidates must hold a PhD in the biological, chemical, physical, mathematical, or computational sciences, or in an engineering field; or an MD; or equivalent terminal degree.
