Baylor College of Medicine seeks to recruit a preeminent leader for the role of Chair of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology to build upon the legacy of this outstanding department in research and education. This individual should be recognized internationally for excellence as a leader in biomedical research.

The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology has an impressive cadre of basic research and clinical full-time faculty members many of whom have joint appointments in academic centers at BCM. The Department is currently ranked 4th in NIH funding for Anatomy/Cell Biology and for many years has consistently ranked among the top four departments for NIH funding.

The Department is internationally recognized for research in the regulation of intracellular signaling and metabolism, stem cell research, cancer and cell biology and animal models of human disease.  The Department is renowned for its high-quality research and multidimensional approach in educating scientists and physicians to become among the finest researchers, clinicians, and academic leaders in the country. With its top standing and the collaborative environment at BCM, the department affords its new leader the opportunity to transform and advance cell biological research to impact human health
