A postdoctoral position is available to work with Dr. Juan-Pablo Idrovo in collaboration with Dr. Elizabeth J. Kovacs in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. The laboratory works on multi-organ system inflammatory responses and innate immunity in the context of tissue injury after trauma.  Current focus of study is Hepatic Response in Advance Age after Burn Injury”.

The successful candidate must be a highly-motivated and career-oriented person with < 2 years of post-doctoral experience, and a PhD in immunology, microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry or a closely related field. They should have experience working with animal models and/or human specimens and basic molecular biology and cell culture skills. Expertise in Jak/Stat signaling is a plus. 

Outstanding oral and written communication skills (English fluency) are also required. The ability to work independently and in collaboration is essential. Qualified applicants should have multiple first-author research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

Note: Applicants for this position must be eligible for appointment to a NIH T32 Training Grant (i.e.., U.S. citizens or permanent residents).
