Tenure Track Faculty Position
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at any level in the areas of biochemistry and/or biophysics. Applications from funded individuals with interests in macromolecular mechanisms are encouraged. The applicant will be expected to establish and maintain an independent, externally-funded research program and to participate in the teaching activities of the department, including the teaching of medical students and graduate students. Current areas of research in this highly interactive medical center include molecular, cell and developmental biology, cancer, neuroscience, membrane physiology, exercise physiology, liver, renal and reproductive biology, and proteomics. Departmental members have affiliations with the KU Cancer Center, Kidney Institute, and Alzheimer’s Center. Available departmental and institutional technologies include a genomics facility, transgenic mouse and gene targeting facility, state-of-the-art animal care facility, confocal EM and laser capture microscopy facility, X-ray crystallography facility, and advanced mass spectrometry facility.
