Research projects includes molecular cloning of recombinant vaccine constructs, bioinformatics, generating influenza virus vaccines using reverse genetics, and testing the efficacy of experimental influenza virus and RSV vaccines in animal models.

NIH-funded Research Associate Post-Doctoral position is available in Dr. Sang-Moo Kang’s laboratory for highly motivated candidates who are interested in developing vaccines against influenza virus and RSV (recent publications in pubmed  Preferred candidates in the job description are expected to have research experiences in the fields of molecular design and cloning of vaccine constructs, preparation of subunit protein vaccines, influenza virus reverse genetics, development of vaccine vectors (rMVA, rAd, DNA vaccines for influenza, human respiratory syncytial virus), vaccine efficacy studies in animal models, and or immunology (multicolor flow cytometry). The specific area of research projects includes molecular cloning of new vaccine constructs, cross protective recombinant influenza virus vaccines using reverse genetics, and RSV vaccines, as well as immunology of vaccines, and viruses.  Highly desirable candidates are expected to have excellent publication records and an independent capability of scientific writing. Applicants eligible for applying grants/fellowships are preferable. Salary will be competitive and be negotiable ($47,000 - $55,000 /year), depending on the experiences of preferred candidates.
