Aarhus University, Faculty of Health, Department of Biomedicine invites applications for one or more positions as Professor at the Department of Biomedicine.

The successful candidate is offered:

Qualifications
The candidate must have an excellent track record in Biomedical research. We are looking for scientists who sees opportunities in collaboration with the existing strong research groups at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital as well as abroad.

The qualified applicant should be able to:

  • Deliver innovative research of the highest international standard
  • Attract significant research funding from national and international funding bodies
  • Have documented teaching experience, pedagogical skills and be able to teach and participate in teaching development
  • Have excellent research leadership abilities in order to successfully manage an international research group integrated in the existing research infrastructure


The Department
Aarhus University is among the top-100 universities in the world (no. 65 by Shanghai ranking 2018) with focus on basic and translational research, interdisciplinarity and a strong link between research and education.

The Department of Biomedicine is part of the Faculty of Health, Aarhus University, and employs some 450 people and covers a range of research areas. The Department has an international vibrant research environment where English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars. The Department contributes to the bachelor’s degree programs in medicine, molecular medicine, odontology and the master's degree programs in biomedical engineering and medical chemistry. Modern laboratory facilities with associated support, core and animal facilities provide the framework for our research. Required qualifications
In making the appointment, emphasis will be placed on the extent, quality and originality of the applicants body of international scientific publications, including contributions to further developing the subject area in question. Moreover, an assessment will be made of the applicants research management abilities.
