The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking outstanding candidates for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will hold a M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree, and have demonstrated excellent track record of research accomplishments including extramural funding. Candidates at the Associate and Full Professor levels are expected to demonstrate leadership and recognition in their discipline. We are interested in individuals with research focus in maternal-fetal medicine (MFM), one of the areas of research thrust in the Department that interfaces with MCW Cardiovascular Center (CVC). We prefer investigators who have an already established MFM program that can complement the clinical interests of the MFM division in the Department. Candidates with experience and R funding in basic biological processes (example: vascular or others) associated with MFM research are welcome to apply. The candidate especially at the Associate and Full Professor levels are expected to mentor junior scientists in the Department, and will collaborate with CVC members and other ongoing initiatives on the campus. Teaching opportunities to train residents, fellows, graduate and medical students are available, and applicants with excellent teaching and mentoring skills are desirable.
The Department of OBGYN has an established strong clinical trials program that accomplishes defined objectives ranging from conception to end of life. Department members have strong interactions with the Clinical & Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin, CVC, Cancer Center, Genomic Science and Precision Medicine Center, Blood Research Institute and Children’s Research Institute. The Women’s Health Research Program in OBGYN is the primary research arm of the Department, and leverages the expertise of college physicians and scientists to address research problems in the field of MFM. Of relevance, OBGYN Department, CVC and CRI have a joint working relationship in MFM research. There is potential for joint appointments with other basic science departments and centers on campus.
