Assistant Professor in Quantitative Developmental and Cell Biology 

Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the department of Development and Cell Biology. We seek candidates focused on quantitative research - experimental, theoretical, computational, or, any combination of these. Applicants may work in any relevant area, but preference will be shown to candidates whose research will benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration, through interactions with members of the department (, and through affiliation with systems biology and functional genomics units on campus, including the NSF-Simons Center for Multiscale Cell Fate Research (, the Center for Complex Biological Systems (, and other departments and schools at UCI. Preference will also be shown to candidates working on animal, preferably vertebrate, systems.

  1. Detail the candidate's previous research experience, with a description of the significance and implications of the work. 
  2. Provide a plan of their future independent research program. 
  3. Indicate how the candidate's research program will synergize with the research environment at UCI. 

Statement of Teaching - One page. 

  1.  Indicate the candidate's teaching experiences to date, including experience with teaching/lecturing to undergraduates/graduate students or other populations. This should include the candidates experience mentoring others in the line of research or outreach activities. 
  2. Detail the candidate's teaching approaches and philosophies, as to how they will engage in effective teaching strategies.
