The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position for a Global Change Biologist. In particular, we are seeking candidates with expertise in organismal biology and the use of state-of-the-art approaches to study adaptation, habitat shifts, and behavioral and/or other responses to global change. Prospective candidates working at higher ecological levels (e.g., populations, communities, ecosystems), particularly in the US Southwest, are also encouraged to apply.
The anticipated appointment date is fall 2019 or earlier. The successful candidate is expected to establish an extramurally funded research program; to teach and mentor undergraduate, masters’, and doctoral students; and to serve as a member of the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) core faculty. Candidates’ research should have a strong potential for collaboration with existing EEB faculty and be able to attract extramural funding.
