The Department of Biology at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall, 2019. Candidates focusing on neurobiology, especially those interested in molecular and cellular aspects of neural development and/or plasticity, are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will join a vibrant neuroscience research community at Georgetown University and participate in doctoral programs in Biology (http://biology.georgetown.edu/graduate/) and the Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience (http://neuroscience.georgetown.edu/). In addition to establishing a creative, externally funded research program, this position involves teaching and mentoring undergraduate students focused on Neurobiology and Biology. Candidates are expected to have trained three or more years in a post-doctoral position.

The Biology Department (http://biology.georgetown.edu/) is housed within Georgetown’s College of Arts & Sciences and has strong institutional ties with the Georgetown University Medical Center and Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.  Located in Washington, D.C., Georgetown University is committed to world-class research and teaching, and benefits from its close proximity to funding agencies, research institutes, as well as several nearby universities.
