The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) ( offers undergraduate and graduate programmes that are relevant to the needs of life science and biomedical sector in Singapore and beyond, and hosts extensive research expertise in areas such as molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, structure biology and systems biology (-omics). It has positive collaborative relationship with Schools of medical, engineering and business disciplines both within and outside of NTU. Successful candidates will be expected to take advantage of this intellectual environment to establish a new undergraduate programme (Double Major in Biomedical Sciences and BioBusiness) targeting the top tier students of Singapore.

Practice Associate Professor / Professor in BioBusiness

An exciting opportunity exists for mid-career scientists with practical experience in businesses relating to biotechnological, biomedical or healthcare industry to join the School of Biological Sciences at NTU as practice-track faculty in BioBusiness. All experience in BioBusiness will be valued, but preference will be given to individuals with exposure to a diversity of BioBusiness and an acumen for technical and regulatory challenges associated with this market.

The successful applicant will be expected to coordinate the Double Major programme in Biomedical Sciences and BioBusiness, and identify and develop a few practice-oriented courses and/or learning activities for the BioBusiness component of the programme. He/she will also be expected to liaise and work closely with Copenhagen Business School (CBS), which NTU partners with for the programme, facilitating students to spend one semester in CBS as part of the curriculum. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to draw on his/her contacts and connection to bring about new internship and project opportunities for the students in the programme.

All candidates must have a PhD or MD (or other equivalent) degree and preferably industry or business experiences. Selection will be also be based in part on a record of research publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, and the ability to conduct effective teaching at the undergraduate level.
