The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, TN, is seeking an outstanding applicant for a twelve-month full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant, associate or full professor level in the area of drug discovery or medicinal chemistry. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong established and ongoing NIH/federally-funded research program. Research strengths of the department, include but are not limited to drug discovery and development, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, physiology, electrophysiology, ion channel research, urological research, smooth muscle function and regulation, renal (both kidney and lower urinary tract), gene therapy, epigenomics, metabolomics, nanotechnology or other related disciplines. The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, the ability to maintain competitive extramural funding, a commitment to excellence in teaching in Pharm.D. and graduate programs, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

In addition, UTHSC has an attractive faulty research incentive program including faculty bonus and partial graduate student stipend support.
