Director Center for Cell Reprogramming Georgetown University Medical Center and Georgetown University The Position Georgetown University seeks a new Director of the Center for Cell Reprogramming (www.cellmedicine.georgetown.edu). The Center recently received a substantial endowment that will enable the new director to recruit new faculty and to support research programs that enhance its research activity and develop its international prominence. This is a senior leadership position (Associate or Full Professor) with tenure. The faculty position will be a dual appointment in the Medical Center (Pathology) and the College (Biology) and, in addition to research, will be expected to oversee the establishment of an academic course in stem cell biology. The Center The Center for Cell Reprogramming is an intercampus, interdisciplinary program that pursues and promotes research on stem-like cells, with an emphasis on conditionally reprogrammed cells, induced pluripotent and adult stem cells, and their relevant biological/medical applications. We serve as a nidus for faculty recruitment, for internal and external research collaborations, and for facilitating funding from government, pharmaceutical and foundation sources. The Center also supports a monthly seminar series highlighting exciting developments in stem cell biology. Qualifications Candidates for this position should have a doctoral degree (MD and/or PhD) and record of recent independent funding and scholarship related to stem cell biology. Candidates will also have proven leadership experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and evidence to foster and coordinate collaborative work within and among institutions.
