The State University of New York, Upstate Medical University ("SUNY Upstate") seeks applications from outstanding candidates in all areas of cancer research, who are pursuing basic, translational, clinical, or population-research programs. This hiring effort is a key step of a multi-year plan of growth at SUNY Upstate that will expand existing programs, increase clinical trials, and develop transformative medicine at the recently opened SUNY Upstate Cancer Center.
Applications will be accepted at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels; rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications. Successful applicants must have a demonstrated record of achievements in cancer research and strong publication record. Sustained grant funding is required for Associate and Full Professors. Areas of interest matching the research programs at the Cancer Center include tumor microenvironment; tumor stem cells; development of novel therapeutic targets and screening approaches; radiation biology; and cancer bioinformatics applied to studies of human cancer (http://www.upstate.edu/cancer/research/index.php)
Applicants will be expected to maintain a well-funded research program and to contribute to graduate and medical teaching. We offer a competitive startup package and salary compensation.
SUNY Upstate, located in Syracuse, NY, is the leading academic medical center and largest healthcare provider in central New York, serving one third of the state. Investigators will be located in the vibrant "University Hill" adjacent to Syracuse University, the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Golisano's Children's Hospital, and the Syracuse VA Medical Center. State-of-the-art resources include next-generation sequencing; super-resolution and multiphoton microscopy; Lumos mass spectrometer; tumor biorepositories; pre-clinical services for animal irradiation and imaging, and structural biology and molecular interaction cores.
