Assistant Professor of Biology at Mississippi University for Women

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in BIOLOGY at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2019. Mississippi University for Women is a public coeducational, primarily undergraduate, liberal arts institution with a total annual enrollment over 3400 students. The successful candidate will teach biology courses in their area of expertise and introductory-level biology courses. Service to the department, the university, and the community is expected. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact extensively with the Mississippi INBRE (, as the position includes a 50% course release to conduct research in biomedical science for the duration of the Mississippi INBRE grant. This research program will actively include and support undergraduate students. Mississippi INBRE is funded through the NIH and is a network of colleges and universities throughout Mississippi that is dedicated toward improving the biomedical research infrastructure in the state. Mississippi INBRE network gives researchers access to cutting edge technologies, as well as mentorship for research program development. Funds will be available to the successful candidate through the Mississippi INBRE for up to three years to develop a successful research program in biomedical sciences.

Applicants must have received their Ph.D. in a biological discipline on or before August 1, 2019. Individuals with post-doctoral experience and/or teaching experience will be given preference.
