Faculty Positions in Pharmaceutical Sciences
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North Dakota State University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions, (1) Pharmaceutical Biochemistry; and (2) Medicinal Chemistry; both at the rank of Assistant Professor, with appointments beginning on or after August 16, 2019. Candidates for both positions should have at least two years of postdoctoral experience with a strong record of scholarship, and possess good interpersonal skills and effective written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with training and research expertise in broad aspects of Pharmaceutical Sciences, as well as with a strong teaching experience. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded research program, teach and mentor graduate students. 1. Faculty position in Pharmaceutical Biochemistry: Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Biochemistry, or closely related field. Responsibility includes teaching basic level pharmaceutical biochemistry to undergraduate pre-Pharmacy students. 2. Faculty position in Medicinal Chemistry: Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or closely related field. Responsibility includes teaching basic level Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry to undergraduate pre-Pharmacy students.
A competitive salary and a start-up package will be provided commensurate with qualifications and experience. Currently, the department has 14 faculty members, 30 doctoral students and 8 post-doctoral fellows/research associates, participates in a NIH-funded ($11 million) Center of Biomedical Research Excellence in Pancreatic Cancer and is funded by several NIH RO1 and other grants in drug delivery, obesity, diabetes, cancer, respiratory and cardiovascular pharmacology.
