Faculty Position in Chemistry
FACULTY POSITION IN CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in any area of chemistry, including analytical, biological, environmental, inorganic, materials, organic, physical, polymer, and theoretical/computational chemistry, with an intended start date of fall 2019 (TR0180111). The position is expected to be filled at the assistant professor level, but applicants at all ranks will be considered.
The successful candidate must establish an internationally recognized research program and be an effective teacher in graduate and undergraduate courses. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field is required; the degree is required at the time of appointment. Occasional travel to attend professional meetings and conferences is required, and University policy requires a criminal background check. Applicants must submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a description of research plans (not to exceed five pages), a statement of teaching philosophy (not to exceed two pages) and arrange for three letters of recommendation.
