Director (Chair) of the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has initiated a search for the position of Director (Chair) of the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences.  The Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences was founded in 1893 by John J. Abel, the "Father of Pharmacology" in the United States. The mission of the department is to continue to be a world leader in pharmacological and molecular life science research and education. Current research interests in the department are broadly focused on understanding fundamental pharmacological mechanisms in all aspects of life sciences. The Department also places a strong emphasis on training the next generation of research scientists through pre-eminent interdisciplinary scholarship, education and research.

The School of Medicine recognizes the power of a diverse and vibrant faculty community and encourages applications from individuals with varied experiences, perspective and backgrounds.

Candidates must have a distinguished record of scholarship, one that would be commensurate with a tenured appointment as Professor. Experience in administration is strongly preferred.
