The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biology. We seek an outstanding individual with research interests in Aquatic Ecology. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a productive, externally funded research program and contribute to student instruction of the department at all levels. Full participation is expected in our Biology undergraduate curriculum and Master program, as well as our broadly defined doctoral program in Environmental Health Science, which is directed at understanding environmental problems that directly, or indirectly, affect human health and well-being from the molecular to global levels. The successful applicant will also be expected to play a major role in teaching our core undergraduate course in Ecology, and specialized upper division courses related to aquatic ecology. Potential synergies with faculty in our and other departments are desirable. Postdoctoral experience is preferred, and candidates must hold, or anticipate, a Ph.D. in Biology, or a related discipline, when starting the position on August 1, 2019. Inquiries should be directed to Dr. Gideon Wasserberg (g_wasser@uncg.edu), Search Committee Chair. Evaluations of applications will begin November 1, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled.
