A Lecturer/ Associate Professor Position in Marine Biology and related fields
Tohoku University offers an Applied Marine Biology (AMB) Course, which is an outstanding undergraduate degree course taught completely in English at the Faculty of Agriculture.
The Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tohoku University is interested in hiring someone at the level of Lecturer or Associate Professor, who is committed to high standards and professionalism in education and research, to provide lectures for the AMB Course and contribute to the improvement of degree programs in English to promote the internationalization in the faculty and the graduate school.
The term of employment is for 5 years, starting on April 1, 2019, until March 31, 2024.
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in an appropriate field of Marine Biology and related fields and have sufficient skill teaching in English. Responsibilities will include (1) teaching subjects related to Life Science and the Biology of Aquatic Organisms at the undergraduate level; (2) supporting the improvement of English language ability; and (3) supporting the internationalization of education systems in cooperation with the Tohoku University Global Learning Center. The activity directing research and education projects and organizational management is also expected.
