Responsibilities
  • Key member for creation of integrated launch and commercialization plans for launch molecule(s), therapeutic areas (TAs),line extensions and/or late-stage assets across Global Brand Development (GBD) and/or US teams.
  • Translate marketing, medical, manufacturing, health outcomes and regulatory needs for the molecule/new indication/line extension into an integrated plan.
  • Ensure Integrated plan deliverables for a molecule/TA are delivered on-time, on-budget, and with quality and in alignment with molecule/TA strategy and plan.
  • Ensure quality and organizational excellence of the assigned team, including performance of cross-functional/corporate processes, alliance/acquisition management, affiliate/global relationships and team culture.
  • Lead the application and integration of key project management processes and tools across teams and/or subsets of teams to deliver asset and portfolio value with quality on time, on budget and within scope.
  • Effectively manage upward, cross-geography and cross-functional communication, anticipate and resolve issues with the team, asset and portfolio in mind, ensure documentation of key team/asset information and decisions, and ensure project management systems are up to date.
Primary Responsibilities:

Enable Strategy
  • Set the foundation for affiliates and regional launch plans; responsible for frequent and effective communication with affiliates and regions to ensure hand-offs, needs/gaps are integrated into the Launch Strategy and Implementation Plans.
  • Partner on creation of the molecule/indication strategy, leveraging quality decision making principles, with core team.
  • Ensure alignment of strategy with the approved molecule scope (indications, resources, etc.).
  • Lead the alignment between molecule/indication strategy and implementation.
Integrated Plan Development
  • Lead creation of integrated cross-functional plan that aligns with the strategy for the molecule; working closely with team COOs, medical launch leadership, cross-functional leaders and other project managers associated with the support of the molecule franchise.
  • Provide or drive immediate and accurate communication of key decisions/results that have team, asset, and/or organizational impact.
  • Drive development and maintenance of an integrated project budget that aligns team, functional, and third party resources (FTEs and funding) always keeping a minimum of 8 quarters in planning horizon.
  • Ensure there is a change management process in place on the team to manage scope, quality, cost and time changes.
  • Responsible for medical affairs planning processes (ie. Brand Planning, Customer Planning, Business Planning). Facilitate and drive development of the medical affairs tactics and project budgets that align functional and geographic resources.
  • Portfolio Alignment: Lead delivery of an integrated launch plan that is in alignment with corporate priorities and the approved molecule/indication scope.
Deliver Results
  • Accountable for delivery of project milestones with quality on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Lead the team to meet or exceed overall project goals
  • Identify and appropriately communicate risks/issues to achieve key project deliverables in alignment with the agreed to project plan and in compliance with corporate quality standards; communicates status of potential risk to Launch governance, the business unit and senior leadership as appropriate.
  • Proactively identify and collaboratively resolve capacity constraints and/or expertise gaps
  • Drive cross-functional team decision making process. Appropriately document and communicate team decisions
  • Deliver cross-functional results through people utilizing project management, influence and communication skills rather than direct or positional authority.
  • Point of contact and support for functions responsible for delivery of customer facing information and tactics. Work with these functions to recommend, identify and drive innovative approaches to quickly, efficiently and impactfully share scientific information to key customer internally and externally through appropriate scientific exchange programs and disclosures.
Application and Integration of Processes
  • Lead the implementation, application, and integration of standard project management processes and tools including but not limited to the development, monitor, and control of integrated scope, timelines, budgets, risk management plans, and communication plans.
  • May participate in or lead critical chain network builds for assigned molecule/indication (and potentially other assets in the portfolio)
  • Serve as process owner and/or subject matter expert for key project management and business processes driving identification, sharing, and incorporation of best practices into future iterations of processes, tools, training, or guidance.
  • Seek and implement opportunities to capture and share learning cross-functionally and across all PM functions including LRL PM and OUS PM teams.
  • Identify and implement solutions for continual process improvement to team and function; identify methods to decrease deliverable cycle times.
  • Drive retrospective project/process review meetings (i.e. after action reviews) to establish best practices for future projects.
  • Coordinate and consolidate the resource, financial and business planning requirements.
People
  • Reach agreement with supervisor on the alignment of performance and development goals with the objectives of the department and the corporate business priorities.
  • Model the leadership behaviors put forth in the LRL Innovation Leadership Profile as well as the Project Management White Papers.
  • Contribute to the development of others by being an active source of coaching and feedback to coworkers along with being an active mentor

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or drug development

Project Management Expertise
  • Applied knowledge of project management tools and processes
  • Strong computer skills; skilled at using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project; capable of maintaining the appropriate project documentation.
  • Practical experience performing project management for a cross-functional project
Additional Preferences:
  • Preferable health-related, scientific or engineering degree or experience
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of drug development processes in specific therapeutic area(s).
  • Higher degrees or certifications (e.g. MS., MBA, Masters in Project Management or PMP) would be beneficial.
