The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences (BSBS) in the College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida (UCF) seeks applicants for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates will be considered that have a research focus on any area of metabolism that is related to human health, including but not limited to, cardiovascular sciences, endocrinology, nutritional sciences, toxicology, aging and diabetes.


Successful applicants must hold a PhD or MD/PhD in a discipline appropriate to the Burnett School. In addition to developing or maintaining a well-funded research program, candidates are expected to actively participate in undergraduate and graduate education. The College of Medicine provides faculty with highly competitive state-supported salaries, generous startup packages, and laboratory space that includes transgenic animal facilities and BSL3 space.


The Burnett School has 60 full-time faculty, 3,000 undergraduate majors and 150 graduate students in MS, PhD, and MD/PhD programs. Further information on the BSBS can be found at


The School is located on both the main UCF campus and at the Lake Nona campus. On the main campus, BSBS is ideally located for cross-discipline collaborations with researchers in physics, chemistry, nanotechnology, biology and optics. BSBS at Lake Nona is a new state-of-the-art research center and is the cornerstone of the biomedical cluster at “Medical City” that includes the new Veterans Administration Medical Center and the Nemours Children's Hospital. Together they provide a hub for biomedical innovation that is transforming Orlando into a global destination for health care, research, and biomedical education.
