Assistant Professor of Physiology

The Department of Physiology, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University invites applications for a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor.  The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous, independent, extramurally funded research program to complement research strengths and goals of the Department of Physiology and the University.

Our department focuses on questions of cellular signaling, neural regulation and hormonal control in a broad range of whole animal, organ and cellular model systems of cardiovascular, endocrine and renal disease.  The successful candidate will receive a competitive start-up package and will be assigned state-of-the-art research facilities.  There is a strong institutional commitment to core facilities, graduate programs and an interdisciplinary approach that promotes collaborations both within and across departmental lines.

 A doctoral degree in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, or PhD in Biological Sciences with postdoctoral experience is required.  Applicants are also expected to have teaching experience and be committed to teaching students in the Medical College and Graduate Studies.
