Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
The Quantitative Biology Initiative in Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences (http://quantbio.harvard.edu) seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor. The Initiative emphasizes quantitative approaches to fundamental problems in the life sciences and aims to foster interactions across disciplinary boundaries. Candidates in any area of quantitative biology will be considered, including those taking computational, theoretical, and/or experimental approaches. The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment in a FAS natural science department such as, but not restricted to, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology, Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, Physics, Statistics, or Chemistry and Chemical Biology. A joint appointment in the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences will also be considered. Faculty associated with the Initiative will have access to facilities and opportunities for collaborative research not only through departments/areas but also through the Life Sciences Core facilities, the Center for Nanoscale Systems, the Broad Institute, and the Center for Brain Science. Candidates are required to have a doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant discipline by the expected start date. In addition, we seek candidates who have a strong research record and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and graduate training.
