Position No. 00006058.  The Department of Biological Sciences in Dedman College at Southern Methodist University is under expansion, with plans to fill a number of junior and senior faculty positions in the next five years.  The Department currently invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.  Applicants should have a Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, and a record of research excellence.  Preference will be given to individuals with potential to interact with current faculty in the areas of aging, cancer biology, developmental biology, epigenetics, neurobiology, biochemistry or emerging infectious diseases.

Candidates will be expected to develop a strong extramurally funded research program.  Competitive start-up funds and generous lab space in the Dedman Life Sciences Building will be offered.  The successful candidate also will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.  For a more complete description of our program and facilities, please see our website at
