School of Biological Sciences
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 12th globally. It is also placed 1st among the world’s best young universities.

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) hosts extensive expertise in and access to state of the art microscopy imaging, structure biology, systems biology (-omics) and animal experiment platforms. Successful candidates will be expected to take advantage of the outstanding infrastructure and intellectual environment at NTU to establish an internationally competitive research program.

Full Professor in Plant Evolutionary Genomics and Development

An exciting opportunity exists for excellent advanced-career scientist in the area of Plant Evolutionary Genomics and Development to join the School of Biological Sciences at NTU as tenured faculty. All areas of Plant Evolutionary Genomics and Development will be considered, but preference will be given to individuals with internationally-recognized expertise in flowering plant evolutionary genomics and evolutionary developmental biology (evo-devo). Excellence in genomics research is expected from the structural to population genomic scales, including previous work in, and interest in continuing research on, non-model systems of interest for the analysis of patterns and processes underlying biodiversity. Similarly, a focus on angiosperm diversity in evo-devo research is preferred.

Candidate should have research programs at the whole-genome scale, not limited to certain collections of genes, thus enabling the systems-wide discovery of the genetic bases for evolutionary traits and patterns. Research including extensive use of bioinformatics is expected. Successful candidates will be expected to collaborate broadly with other scientists interested in systems biology and bioinformatics.
