Postdoctoral Research Scientist position is available at the Columbia Center for Radiological Research (CRR.columbia.edu) to integrate high-throughput, phenotypic DNA repair assays into a large-scale breast cancer (BC) study. The successful candidate will be tasked with the development of DNA repair assay(s) for biospecimens using robotically-based, high throughput cellular screening systems. The candidate will also be involved in other ongoing projects within our radiation biodosimetry program devoted to the devoted to the development of high-throughput protein-based methods for biomarker optimization. 

Qualified candidates would have a Ph.D. in cell biology, physiology, biophysics or related subjects. Applicants with a background in flow cytometry techniques or immunofluorescent protein assays would be an advantage, although training will be provided. The project team is highly multidisciplinary encompassing the fields of BC epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, high-throughput DNA repair capacity assessment and biostatistics, so good communication and writing skills are a must.
