DIRECTOR AND FACULTY POSITIONS

Buck Institute for Research on Aging

Novato, CA

OPPORTUNITY

The new Center for Female Reproductive Equality and Longevity at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging is recruiting faculty to study female reproductive longevity. Applications from highly qualified individuals with demonstrated expertise in the biology of female reproductive longevity are invited for the position of Director of the Center, as well as for positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor.

ABOUT US

The Buck Institute is the pioneer and leader in the field of aging research. While aging research is seeing unprecedented acceleration, the area of women’s reproductive longevity remains underappreciated or even ignored. Results from existing studies suggest that there are several potential molecular mechanisms contributing to ovarian aging, including impaired DNA repair, metabolic/energetic disorders, and mitochondrial dysfunction. The Buck Institute has the organizational capacity to build on these preliminary findings to further the understanding of the mechanisms of female reproductive aging and potentially develop strategies to prevent or delay ovarian aging.

This is a unique opportunity to conduct innovative research in a field ripe for advancement. Collaborative opportunities are available for interaction with researchers in multiple fields of aging research in basic and translational science. The Buck also offers excellent laboratory facilities, competitive salary and startup packages commensurate with qualifications and experience, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities including proteomics, metabolomics, bioinformatics, flow cytometry, and imaging.
