Research Associate (Postdoctoral Fellow) in liver cancer research.

The Wei Qiu Laboratory at Loyola University Chicago is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate (Research Associate) with an interest in liver cancer research. The Qiu Lab (http://weiqiu-lab.weebly.com/) aims to understand the molecular mechanisms of hepatocarcinogenesis and resistance of current therapeutics for liver cancer. Dr. Qiu has mentored two postdoctoral fellows in last 5 years. One postdoctoral fellow published 4 first-author papers in high profile journals (including Hepatology (a top journal in Hepatology field, IF=13.2), Cell Death & Disease (5.97) and Scientific Reports (4.26) etal.) within 4 years. Another one has published one first-author paper in Hepatology Communication (one of the best new journals in Gastroenterology field) within 2 years. This is a great opportunity for a motived candidate to enter a fostering environment of collaborative basic and clinical cancer researchers. A wide variety of approaches are employed in Dr. Qiu’s lab, including molecular and cell biology techniques (shRNA, CRISPR, sleeping beauty transposon system, etal), state-of-art cell imaging, transgenic and knockout mouse models, injury and cancer models, and correlative studies using clinical human samples. We consider motivated candidates with doctoral degree and strong first-author publications. Experience with molecular cloning, immunology, and mouse especially intravenous injection are preferred. For consideration, please apply online at careers.luc.edu (posting#7867) and send a CV, cover letter and contact information for at least three references to: Dr. Wei Qiu, wqiu@luc.edu.
