Postdoctoral Fellowship, Vascular Development and Diseases
Postdoctoral fellowships to qualified candidates with an interest in vascular development and diseases. The positions are available is in the laboratory of Dr. Susan Quaggin, within the Feinberg Cardiovascular and Renal Research Institute at Northwestern University, Chicago. The primary focus in our laboratory is understanding the molecular basis of blood and lymphatic vascular diseases of the kidney, eye and heart. We are seeking 2 postdoctoral researchers to lead projects that focus on mechanisms of vascular injury involving the Angiopoietin – Tie2 tyrosine kinase vascular signaling pathway. The postdoctoral researcher in this position will have the opportunity to interact with a team of chemists and nanomedicine experts to develop new therapies through our O'Brien Kidney Center (www.nephroHUB.org).
Motivated candidates who have completed a PhD or MD in a field related to vascular disease, tyrosine kinase signaling pathways and/or hypothesis-driven molecular biology research are encouraged to apply. Experience with bioinformatics and/or mouse genetics is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
