Zhejiang University of Technology welcomes talents from home and abroad

  Joint constructed by Zhejiang Province and Ministry of Education, Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT) is a provincial comprehensive key university in Zhejiang. It is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, the famous historic and cultural city in China and the world-renowned scenic tourist spot that has a reputation of “paradise on earth”. ZJUT is among the first batch of key universities in Zhejiang Province. It is also the leading unit in the first batch of national “2011 Plan”, and the selected unit in the batch of national “Discipline Innovation and Talent Recruitment Plan of Higher Educational Institutions” (i.e., “111 Plan”) with the comprehensive strength retaining among the top one hundred of the nationwide universities. So far, ZJUT has established 6 postdoctoral stations, 9 doctor’s degree accreditation stations of first-class disciplines, 29 master’s degree accreditation stations of first-class disciplines. The university has 3 Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians, 4 double-recruited academicians of Chinese Academy of Science or Chinese Academy of Engineering, 52 talents at the national level with honorary titles of Ten Thousand Talent Program, National 1000 Talents Plan, Chang Jiang Scholars Program, and/or the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. ZJUT has a number of national and provincial scientific research and teaching platforms such as National Engineering and Technology Research Center, National Base of International Scientific and Technological Cooperation, and State Key Laboratory Cultivation Base, etc. Five disciplines including Chemistry, Engineering Science, Material Science, Environmental Science and Ecology, Agricultural Sciences are among the global top 1% of ESI. More than 400 scientific research achievements have been given national, provincial and ministerial awards with 22 items of National Science and Technology Awards. ZJUT ranks the tenth and seventh among the universities in China in terms of the number of effective invention patents and accumulative Chinese patent awards respectively.

II. Posts, qualifications and benefits

1. Young scholars of “Yun He Scholar Program”

(1) Qualifications and requirements for applicants

a. For the fields of natural science, the applicant should be under the age of thirty-eight (thirty-eight years old included); For the fields of humanities and social science, the applicant should be under the age of forty-three (forty-three years old included).

b. The applicant should have a doctor’s degree or an equivalent degree.

c. The applicant, with developing potential, should have made an innovative and international acknowledged achievement in the discipline. He/she should have obtained a good evaluation and passed the expert communication review in national talents programs (including Chang Jiang Scholars Program, The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, The Science Fund for the Excellent Youth, Outstanding Young Talents of “Ten Thousand Talent Program”, The Science and Technology Ministry: Young and Middle-aged Leading Talents of Technological Innovation, etc.), or have had landmark outcomes in the fields of the basic research, engineering technology, humanities and social science, or have undertaken major national research projects (the second-class projects or above identified by the university), or have won the National Science and Technology Award as the top three co-author,  or have finished as the first author at least one Excellent Scientific Research Project awarded the second prize or above at the provincial and ministerial level.

d. The applicant should have a strong spirit of unity, cooperation, struggle and devotion, and the ability to organize, lead and manage the academic group. Preference will be given to applicants who can lead a group to make advanced achievements in the frontiers of science.

(2) Salary, reward and benefits

a. The annual salary is 300,000-350,000 RMB, plus rewards for achievements in teaching and research.

b. The housing subsidy is 800,000-1,000,000 RMB, and the turnover house or talent leasehold house can be applied according to school policies.

c. The start-up research fund is 200,000-800,000 RMB, and the postgraduate enrollment quota is set according to policies.

2. Professors

(1) Qualifications and requirements for applicants

a. For the fields of natural science, the applicant should be under the age of forty (forty years old included); and For the fields of humanities and social science, the applicant should be under the age of forty-five (forty-five years old included).

b. The applicant should have a doctor’s degree, at least one-year study and work experience in high-level overseas universities or research institutes, and an associate professor title or overseas assistant professor title or above.

c. The applicant should have made an international acknowledged achievement in scientific research, have potential to make a through in his/her discipline, and is able to teach core courses at the undergraduate level.

d. The research achievement in the past five years qualifies a research-oriented professor, or the applicant’s academic achievement is outstanding.

(2) Salary, reward and benefits

a. The annual salary is 200,000-250,000 RMB, plus rewards for achievements in teaching and research.

b. The housing subsidy is 800,000-850,000 RMB, and the turnover house or talent leasehold house can be applied according to school policies.

c. The start-up research fund is 100,000-200,000 RMB, and the postgraduate enrollment quota is set according to policies.

3. Associate professors

(1) Qualifications and requirements for applicants

a. For the fields of natural science, the applicant should be under the age of thirty-five (thirty-five years old included); for the fields of humanities and social science, the applicant should be under the age of forty (forty years old included).

b. The applicant should have a doctor’s degree, at least one-year study and work experience in high-level overseas universities or research institutes.

c. The applicant should have made an international acknowledged research achievement, have the potential to make a through in his/her discipline, and is able to teach core courses at the undergraduate level.

d. The research achievement in the past five years qualifies a research-oriented associate professor, or the applicant’s academic achievement is outstanding.

(2) Salary, reward and benefits

a. The annual salary is 150,000-200,000 RMB, plus rewards for achievements in teaching and research.

b. The housing subsidy is 700,000-750,000 RMB, and the talent leasehold house can be applied according to school policies.

c. The start-up research fund is 50,000-100,000 RMB, and the postgraduate enrollment quota is set according to policies.

4. Young teachers

(1) Qualifications and requirements for applicants

a. The applicant should be under the age of thirty-five (thirty-five years old included).

b. The applicant should have a doctor’s degree.

c. The applicant should have made an international acknowledged research achievement, and have the potential to make a through in the discipline.

(2) Salary, reward and benefits

a. The annual salary is 150,000-180,000 RMB, plus rewards for achievements in teaching and research.

b. The housing subsidy is 600,000-750,000 RMB, and the talent leasehold house can be applied according to school policies.

c. The start-up research fund is provided according to policies.

5. Postdoctoral researcher

(1) Qualifications and requirements for applicants

a. The applicant should be under the age of thirty-five (thirty-five years old included) and be qualified to enter the postdoctoral station conforming to the relevant regulations of the state postdoctoral management.

b. The applicant should have had a doctor’s degree no more than three years.

c. The applicant who has made an outstanding research achievement and is interested in higher education and have strong potential for development.

d. The applicant should work in ZJUT for at least two years.

(2) Salary, reward and benefits

a. Through the postdoctoral period, the annual salary is 180,000-200,000 RMB (including a 3,000 RMB monthly rental subsidy), plus rewards for achievements in teaching and research.

b. The start-up research fund is provided according to policies.

P.S. The annual salary refers to the total annual income before tax (excluding unit-supporting social insurance part), and the reward for research achievement is issued according to the school policy. The housing subsidy with settling-in allowance included will be given in batches according to school policy.
