We are currently recruiting for a Gastrointestinal Cancer Therapeutic Area Global Marketing Executive Director for KEYTRUDA, which will be responsible for gastric, esophageal, hepatocellular, and colo-rectal cancers. The role will be based in Kenilworth, NJ.

This position will require outstanding leadership in all areas of product management including market assessment, disease state strategy, product clinical development, business development, product strategy, market development, branding, market segmentation, product positioning, thought leader engagement, promotion, channel strategies, pricing, market access, reimbursement, competitive dynamics, issues management, forecasting, opportunity valuations, resource requirements, and overall flawless launch execution. He or she will develop and execute business plans through marketing strategies, goals, and tactics.

Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Overall responsibility for the development and adoption of the business strategy to build a global leadership position for Merck Oncology in GI cancers.
  • Provides commercial leadership and input on such activities including commercial lead on product development team, target product profile development, health authority interactions, global regulatory filing strategy, launch readiness reviews, key customer management, organized customer interactions, market research, product promotion, demand, revenue, and P&L forecasting, BD&L activities, and agency partner management.
  • Building and leading a commercial team, work effectively with cross-functional partners including research and development, market access, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, BD&L, market analytics, field sales organization, international and domestic operations, legal, scientific communications, professional education, training and development, health care compliance to successfully navigate the internal and external environments and deliver value to our customers
  • Responsible for achieving key business outcomes at a global level, including maximizing physician acceptance, market penetration, profitability, and new indication launch uptake.
  • Provides leadership, support, and expertise to country marketing and sales organizations as well as distribution channels for the product line.
  • Travel up to 25% of time

    Qualifications

    Education:
    • Required: BA/BS/B Eng degree
    • Preferred: MBA
    Required Experience:
    • Minimum of (8) years commercial experience
    • Minimum of (3) years Oncology experience
    • Launch experience
    • Marketplace assessment experience
    • Development of product strategy
    • People management experience
    • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
    • Must be able to influence without authority as well as work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
    Preferred Experience:
    • Sales Leadership experience Oncology launch experience GI Cancer (e.g. gastric, esophageal, hepatocellular, colo-rectal or other GI cancer experiences)
    • Global Marketing experience
